BANGA SOUP IN THE REAL SENSE OF THE WORD

Today we shall be talking about BANGA SOUP. It's a very common delicacy in the continent of Africa .

When you hear a yoruba man or woman talk about OBE OYIN, what is he or she talking about? Or you hear an igbo man or woman talking about OFE AKWU, what is she or he talking about? Ofcourse they are talking about Banga soup. Our brothers and sisters in bayelsa call it LII FOLOU, Its called EFERE ABAK in Akwa ibom state, Is called OBEY EKPO in Itsekiri, in Ghana it is called ABENKWAN and in cameroon it is called MBANGA SOUP to mention just a few.

INGREDIENTS
Palm kernel juice extracted through pounding of palm kernel nut with pistle mortal.
Onions, Yellow pepper, Beef meat/ goat/fish, periwinkle,snail, seasoning and oburunbebe stick for great aroma and taste.

PREPARATION
Boil palm kernel for 20-30minutes to soften it.
Pound the palm kernel and extract the juice from the chaff.
Boil the juice for 25minutes, add pepper, salt and seasoning. Do not forget to add half stick of oburunbebe for great aroma and good taste.
Boiled meat, pomo, snail, periwinkle can now be added.
Allow to boil for 10minutes. At this point, you can remove the oburun stick.

FOOD IS NOW READY
BANGA SOUP

RICE
You can serve with rice, eba and starch.
